UTMP’s conference programming is designed to acquaint delegates with the functional aspects of Canadian government, immerse them in meaningful debate over public policy, and present them with the opportunity to engage in research and discourse following the conference. The conference is open to all Canadians between 15 and 29 years of age. |
The delegation will convene for the Plenary Session/Election Day on Saturday February 6 from 9 am – 5 pm on the Trinity College campus, where government and opposition caucuses will be formed. The Simulation will take place between February 10 – 12 in the Ontario Legislative Assembly at Queen’s Park. |
Online registration for the inaugural session opens on Wednesday September 30 and closes on January 31, 2010 at 11:59 pm. If you are a university or college student, or 18+, you must use our online registration system. High-school delegations must register through a faculty adviser or legal guardian. |

Once registration and payment have been processed, delegates will receive credentials for a one-year subscription to the UTMP online community. The community will contain dedicated resources on Canadian public policy, serve as a hub for discussion and debate within and among caucuses, and will be the platform for collaborative bill-writing. |
Take advantage of UTMP’s early-bird registration fee – if you register and pay before February 1st, the fee is only $75. The regular registration fee is $95, and must be paid by February 5th. Groups of 10 or more are eligible for a discount. We accept PayPal, Major Credit Cards, Debit and Cheques. We also offer a limited number of needs-based bursaries and awards. |
The simulation is composed of two delegations – a Junior (15 – 20) and a Senior (20+) which are made of up 107 MPP’s respectively. During the simulation, each delegation will be in session on an alternating schedule. Each delegation will be prompted with unique public policy case-studies which will inform parliamentary debate and the creation of mock-legislation. |

All conference proceedings take place on and nearby the University of Toronto campus, which is located only minutes from the city’s downtown core. While the registration fee does not cover the cost of travel or accommodation, UTMP has made special arrangements for discounted hotel rooms during the conference. |
